Using Creation to Proclaim God to Unbelievers, Part 2

Let's pray. Father, we are thankful for the time that you give us to come before you. We ask now that you would direct our time that we might honor you in all that we do.
We pray, Lord, for all who are here that we might hear, that we might receive, that we might understand, and that we might share with others, that we might be the people that you have called us to be. We praise you and honor you in Christ's name. Amen.
As we talk to you tonight about using creation to proclaim Christ, part two, we're talking specifically tonight about why is it that the unbeliever does not come to Christ. Now, let me make it clear that we all once was in the unbeliever category, and then we came to Christ, and now we are in the believer category. We started with this video from the beginning that we wanted to show again how a man deep in science, nobody placed the Bible in front of him to say you must believe this, but everything he saw in his science pointed to a creator, and yet he still would not come to it.
Giving one of the quotes that he used in here, he says, and I quote, I am in a complete hopeless bind, and I have stayed there. I feel that I am missing something, but I won't find out what I am missing in my lifetime. What a tragedy.
And the guy died in 2008, and as far as we know, he never made that jump. And by the way, later on, we're going to quote where he says the scientists in their faith in what it is that they believe, he said they wake up like it's a bad nightmare. No, it's not a bad nightmare.
It's a bad eternity that they wake up in, and that's what we want to talk to you about tonight because we want to be faithful in getting the word out about the Christ that people will come, will have the opportunity to come to know Christ. What we want to do is look at Scripture. Some of it's just going to be in like Matthew 5 through 7, Matthew chapters 5 through 7. We're not going to go through any of that, but our pastor has been taking us through that, starting in Matthew chapter 5, and what does he tell us? The greatest preacher, Jesus Christ, who has ever preached, and the greatest sermon that was ever preached, and at the end of it, you find nobody coming to Christ.
So we want to look at things like that and see other events that happen in Scripture, and a group of people saw it, and how one group handled it one way, and another group handled it another way. Those are the things that we want to take a look at. So let's start in Acts chapter 2. In Acts chapter 2, it tells us that the day of Pentecost came.
Now Pentecost had been around for years and years and decades and hundreds of years. Pentecost had been there and had been celebrated, but on this particular Pentecost, something different happened. Look at Acts chapter 2, starting at verse 5. It says, now there was Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven.
And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together and were bewildered, because each one of them was hearing them speak in their own language. They were amazed and astonished, saying, why are not these all speaking who are Gentiles? And how is it that we hear them in our own language in which we were born? Parthians, Medes, Elamites, residents of Patania, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the districts of Libya, and Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and Gentiles, Cretans and Arabs. We hear them in our own tongue speaking the mighty deeds of God.
And they all continued in amaze with great perplexity, saying to one another, what does this mean? But others were mocking, saying, these men are full of new wine. But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them, Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, let it be known unto you, and give heed to my word, for these men are not drunk as you suppose, for it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was spoken of by the prophet Joel.
Peter stands in the midst of a crowd. Some are mocking and some are saying, what is this? We are amazed. But what is it that they are really hearing? They're hearing the mighty deeds of God in their own language.
And they say, what does this mean? But some would say, you’re kidding me. This could not happen. They mocked it.
They made fun of it. They poked at it. But Peter would stand up and say, Let's go back to the scripture.
Let's look at what the prophet Joel has said. And that's what he did. He took them through that, that they might understand what it is that was going on in their time.
On this day of Pentecost, something brand new has happened that has never happened in their presence before. And what did they come up with? These men are drunk. What is it that people come up with when you share with them? It doesn't matter what they come up with.
It does matter what we share. We must share with them the truth. As we move through the book of Acts, you get to Acts chapter 3.
And there's a man lame from his mother's womb, we learn later on. But he's begging for alms. And you see Peter and John going into the temple.
So we asked him for some money. And they said, silver and gold we do not have. But what we have, we give you in the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk.
And the guy with their help got up, his feet and ankles gained strength, and he began to walk and to praise God. And all these things would happen in the presence of the religious leaders. And then when we look at Acts chapter 4, starting at verse 10, when Peter starts to declare, by the way, he's answering a question.
The question is, why do you preach in this name? And Peter is answering that question, starting at verse 10. He said, let it be known unto all of you and to all the people of Israel, by the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead. By this name, this man stands before you in good health.
He, referring to Christ, is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone. And now he answers the question in verse 12. And there is salvation in no one else.
For there is no other name under heaven whereby that has been given among men by which we must be saved. You and I must remember that when we go out. There is no other name under heaven given other than the name of Jesus Christ.
And when we go out and preach that name, that's what we must say. Look at verse 13. He says now, they, referring to the religious leaders, observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men.
They were amazed and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus. Does anybody recognize us as Christians? Because we are willing to be bold and to stand and to preach the gospel, no matter what it costs? Verse 14, it says, and seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply. But when they had ordered them to leave the council, they began to consult with one another, saying, what are we to do with these men? Wow.
See, they put Peter and John out because now they need to have a conference between themselves to find out what it is that we're going to do and what question to ask is what are we going to do with these men? Now look at the next part of verse 16. It says, for the fact that a noteworthy miracle has taken place through them is apparent to all who live in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. When you read that, what do you think ought to come next? A bowing of the knee, a bowing of the head to say, here's what we want, here's what we need.
But look at the next verse. It says, but so that this will not spread any further among the people, let us warn them not to speak any longer to any person in this name. See, Pete and John are outside the room.
They have decided, here's what we're going to do. Now we're going to bring them back in the room, and we're going to discuss something with them. And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or to teach at all in the name of Jesus.
But Peter and John answered them and said, whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than God, you are your own judgment. Peter says, you told us one thing, and God has told us something else. Whether we're going to obey God or you, but he goes on to say, for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.
Now think about that. Here are the religious leaders who've seen and heard a man who was lame from his mother's womb, now leaping, praising God, and following these men. And what do they say? Don't tell nobody else about this.
Peter says, we can't help but to tell what we have seen and heard. And when they had threatened them further, what does that mean? They had already threatened them before. And now when they had threatened them further, they let them go, finding no basis on which to punish them on account of the people.
They didn't punish them because they knew the people were going to be upset if they punished them. It says, because they were glorifying God with what had happened. For the man on whom this miracle of healing had been performed was more than 40 years old.
Long time to be sitting and begging. But now he is walking among them and praising God and they still refuse to believe it. What more evidence do they need? What is it that kept them from believing? As Robert Gastro said, he said, my science wouldn't let me get there.
It wasn't his science, it was himself. And that's what's wrong with these people. It's self that keeps you from coming to Christ. And whenever you share the gospel with someone and they refuse it, guess what it is? It is self that keeps them from doing that.
I remember years ago, just outside that door, during service, the pastor was talking to a man and I was passing by and he said, here's the guy you need to talk to. Tom, would you take this guy in the room? Went in this room right here.
It's not called the cry room. Then it wasn't. So we went in there.
We sit down. The guy came to church because he wanted to be a Christian. That's what he had just told Lance.
We go in the room and we sit down and I take him through the gospel and he said, hold on a minute. Wait a minute. Are you telling me in order for me to come to Christ, I must repent of my sin? Yes, I am. That's not me saying that. That's what the scripture says.
He says, my sins are too good to turn away from. The guy got up and walked out of the room. Came back the next Sunday. We haven't seen him since.
But it was his self that said, my sins are too good for me to turn away from. And what he saw in scripture wasn't going to deter him from his sin. Now, he came to church looking for Christ.
We didn't go out looking for him. But when he heard what it cost. Prepare to look at what it costs you to come.
What does repent mean? To turn from our sins and to turn to God. And these are the things that we are called to do. We take this message on.
Last week we talked to you about John, I'm sorry, Acts chapter 17. When Paul was standing on Mars Hill and Paul would preach to the people there about the creator. He said, let me tell you about this unknown God that you have this altar to.
He said, the God who created the universe doesn't live inside of a building and he can't be formed by gold, silver, and stone. He says, as if he needs some help from somebody. And he went on to preach to them about the coming king and what it is that he had.
And when he would preach this to them, they did. Some of them sneered. That is the same word that was used over in chapter 2, verse 13, when it says they mocked him.
The only two places is used in the entire New Testament. These people have heard him preach the gospel about the creator of the universe. And what do they do? They sneer.
But some said, we will hear you again on this matter. So there was some there who heard and some wanted to come to Christ and some came and said, yes, this is what we need. And so when we see these, we see it again and again, how it happened in scripture.
Matter of fact, if you remember Paul, when he was in Thessalonica and he was run out of Thessalonica and he had to go into Berea. And when he went there in Acts 17:10, it says, the brothers sent Paul and Silas there by night to Berea. And when they arrived, they went into the Jewish synagogue.
They went in to share again with the Jews. It says now these were more noble than the ones in Thessalonica. And then he goes on to explain why they were.
He said, for they received the word of God with great eagerness, examining the scripture daily to see if what those things that was said, it was true. These were Jews. They had the scriptures.
They would hear these things from Paul and Silas and they would go and look in the scriptures and see if these things are true. And these things, when they found out they were true, they believed it and they became Christians. But look down at chapter 17, verse 13.
It says, but when the Jews in Thessalonica found out that the word of God was being proclaimed by Paul in Berea. Also, they came there as well, agitating and stirring up the crowd. They were satisfied in their city to run them out of town and to put them down.
They found out they were in another town and they went there for what purpose? To put them out and to stir up the crowd against them. That's what happens when people do not want to listen to the claims of Christ. Whether it's you with the Scripture or me with the scripture or just the natural things around a person that points him to the Creator God.
If self is not ready, he will reject it every time. That does not relieve us of our responsibility. We ought to proclaim God everywhere, every opportunity that we have that we might put him on display. That people might have an opportunity to share with another person.
By the way, when you get saved, do you know what your next responsibility is? To share with someone else. The question we have to ask ourselves, who have we shared with lately? I'm not talking about last week. I'm not talking about last year. I'm not talking about 10 years ago. I'm talking about who we shared with lately.
That's the thing that you and I are here for. You've heard it from this place more than once that the only reason that you and I are left here is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. You say, well, I have a great job and that's what I know.
You have a great job while you're here, but you were left here to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with someone else. You say, well, I'm married and I enjoy that. That is great.
I am too, but I wasn't left here to get married. I got married because I was left here to share with other people and the same with you. Whatever you're doing now, you're doing because you were left here to share with somebody else.
How do we get that started? Just by walking up and starting that conversation. You know what would be a good thing? If we just practiced on one another. You know, catch your brother or sister.
If you're a sister, catch another sister and say, let's practice. How would I share the gospel with you if you didn't know it? And just start off with that. Matter of fact, the Ecuador team are getting ready to go out.
They've gone through evangelism training. They've been practicing how it is that they would do that. There's nothing wrong with you and I doing that.
Just walking up and say, brother, I need you to tell me how you would share with someone if they're coming to Christ. And then when you meet people in the street, you meet people at the store, you meet people wherever you go. Look for opportunities to share with them.
I tell everybody the cross around the neck is, by the way, I see that more than anything else. Always ask the question, what does that cross mean to you? I remember Chuck Swindoll telling us years ago about some lady in America, young lady, went into a jewelry store and told the guy on the cross on the proprietor says, I would like to buy a cross. So he goes in his drawer, pulls them out, lays them down, and she's looking through them. She says, I want the one with the little man on it.
She doesn't even know who's on the cross, but that's what she wants to wear around her neck. When you ask people the question, what does that cross mean to you? Don't be surprised if some of the answers you get.
Young lady told me one time, reminds me of my grandmother. So why is that? She said, because my grandmother, the one gave it to me. I said, would you like to know the reason behind the cross? She said, no, not interested.
She was interested in the cross because her grandmother gave it to her. You and I are responsible for asking those questions. We need to ask the question that people might come to know who Christ is.
Now, let's go to our main verses for tonight. Romans chapter 1, starting at verse 18. Notice it starts with the word for.
That's, let me explain to you why this is true. But if you look back up, verse 16 also starts with the word for. Verse 17 also starts with the word for.
Paul tells us in 16, I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation. No one else is, no one is going to come to Christ without the gospel. And that's why you and I are here to share this great gospel.
Then as he explains to us, but he's not ashamed of the gospel. When he gets down to verse 18, he gives us another one of those for, he says, for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. Notice there's no one left out there.
Look at that verse again. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. When a person rejects Christ, I don't care who he is or who she is, they are rejecting the son of God.
Therefore they are suppressing the truth of God in what it is that they believe. They believe they have a better way. They believe I can do this in a better way.
Now look at verse 19. He says, because that which is known about God is evidence within them, for God has made it evidence to them. For since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes, his eternal power and divine nature has clearly been seen being understood through what has been made so that they are without excuse.
He goes all the way back to the creation. He says, for God has made it known unto them. You ever think about that part? God has made it known unto them.
Who is God? God is the best teacher out there. Matter of fact, while you're here, look at John chapter 6, verse 44. Gospel of John chapter 6 and verse 44.
Jesus is speaking here and when he talks about this, he talks about how one gets to know him. And so when we see this in verse 44, he says, no one can come to me unless the father who has sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day. Now look at verse 45.
It is written in the prophets and they all shall be taught by God. Now that's the part that's written in the prophets. They all shall be taught of God.
Then Jesus answers and Jesus adds and says, everyone who has heard and learns will come to me and I will raise him up in the last day. God is the best teacher there is. And God teaches every man and every woman.
The one who hears and learns will come to him. Now in Romans chapter 1, he's talking to people who have not heard of the gospel. They've not heard of the Bible.
They've not heard of Jesus Christ who's coming. So God says there's something he has taught them. Look at verse 20.
Says for since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes and his eternal power and divine nature has been clearly seen. So what is it that they see? They understand that his eternal power and divine nature is clearly seen. Why is that? In order to be here before creation, you have to be eternal.
And in order to be eternal, you have to be divine. And he goes on to say, having been clearly seen and understood through what has been made, so they are without excuse. So a person who is standing in front of God at the judgment seat and he is condemned to hell, he will be without excuse even if he's never heard the gospel.
Why? Because he's rejected the God that has made himself obvious to him. How do we know that? Verse 21 says, for even though they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks. But they became fruitful.
That word means to make empty. In their speculations and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools.
What a tragedy. Professing to be wise, the world today professes to be wise, but they've become fools. Why? Because they have found something else to worship other than God.
And here he says, they have exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and of four-footed animals and crawling things. They know they should worship somebody. So they have cast aside God that they knew.
The Bible tells us that they knew him and what they knew about him. They have put that aside and gone out and cut down a tree and out of that tree took part of it to cook their biscuits, in the other part to make a frog or a dog or a man and worshiped him.
This reminds me of Aaron. Remember when Moses was up on the mountain and Aaron down with the people? The people came to Aaron and says, make us a calf that would lead us and guide us. Because this guy Moses, we don't know what happened to him. What is it that they wanted? They wanted something they could see.
That's what they wanted here. He says, so they went out and chopped down the tree and they made something in the form of incorruptible man, birds or four-footed beasts or creeping things and they worshiped the creature rather than the creator. What sense does that make? You have a creator and you have a creature and you're going to worship the creature rather than the creator.
Wow, that is amazing. At the same time, they are professing to be wise, but they have become fools. Then down in verse 24, he says, God gave them over to the lust of their hearts to impurity so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie.
If you went out and told some unbelievers that that's what they were doing, they would probably call you nuts. And you know what the good thing about it? We don't need to tell them that's what they're doing, but the scripture is letting us know that that's what they are doing.
They are exchanging the truth of God for the lie that they have come up with. When they say my sins are too good for me to turn away from my sins, that's a lie. When they say my science won't let me make that jump, that's a lie.
Even though he himself said, I seem like I'm in a helpless, hopeless position, and I will not get there in my lifetime. Wow. What a statement.
Evidence of a person who has exchanged the truth of God for a lie and has worshiped and served the creature rather than the creator who is blessed forever. Amen.
The creator is blessed forever. He has given us, his son Jesus Christ, to live on this earth among us, to live here for 33 and a half years and never sin, and then went to the cross and paid the penalty for your sins and my sins. And it does not matter that you and I come along after him, because in the writer John, he says, I'm not only praying for these who are here, but I'm praying for these who will come because they hear of the word of God from these. And so it's been passed down to us from one person to the other, from the book of the Bible to the person who is carrying the word of God, that we might come to know him.
Robert Coleman, in his book called The Widening Cycle of Evangelism, he starts with the 11. He said, Jesus brought the 11, and then we had the 120, then we had the 500, then we had the 3,000, then we had the 5,000. And he says, after that, no number is ever given, just called the multitude.
And then he asks a stunning question. He asks the question, has the cycle of evangelism widened since you became a Christian? And see, when I'm reading that, he's asking me, has the cycle of evangelism widened since I became a Christian? And I would just like to add to that, have the cycle of evangelism expanded lately because you have become a Christian? And see, we're not charged with bringing someone to Christ, but we are charged with sharing the gospel with the person so they would have the opportunity to come to Christ. And see, that's what is so exciting about what it is that we do.
I remember being in Argentina once, and a guy came to Christ. On that particular day, don't remember what day of the week it was, but when the team got ready to go out the next day, they're walking under this tree, and they hear a voice from above saying, where are you guys going? And they're looking around and trying to figure how, he said, look up here. And they looked up in the tree, and that guy was up there working.
And he says, where are you guys going? Said, we're going out to share the gospel with some guys. So, do you have anybody in mind? They said, no, we don't. He said, I have some friends I'd like to take you to.
This guy came down out of the tree and led them to his friends. Just became a Christian the day before, and he went over and told what the guys had shared with him from the scripture the day before. Now, none of those guys came to Christ on that day that he came and shared with.
But here's a guy one day old in the scripture, and he is out sharing the scripture with others because someone shared it with him, and he got saved. And he knows the importance of then bringing this on so he then might bring this to others. That's what you and I are called to do.
In this video that we showed you tonight, I want to give you the quote that was at the end of the video that's in Robert Gaston's book, God and the Astronomers. He says in our quote, far from disproving the existence of God, astronomers may have found more circumstantial evidence that God exists, that the universe began abruptly in an act of creation. For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reasoning, the story ends like a bad dream.
He has scaled the mountain of ignorance. He is about to conquer the highest peak, and he pulls himself up over the final rock. He's greeted by a band of theologians who's been sitting there for centuries.
I would like to change that phrase just a little bit. He greeted by a band of Christians who have been sitting there for centuries. Why? Because we believe what the scripture says, and whatever the scripture says, that we believe it.
And so these are the things that we are called to do. NASA has put in outer space what is called the James Webb Telescope. The James Webb Telescope had to be folded up so it could be put in a capsule and sent 1 million miles out.
And I'm going to use this book as the launching pad. So it had to be folded up and placed into this. And then when it got 1 million miles out, it had to unfold.
And when it unfolded, it was as large as all of this right here. Okay, 350 moves that it had to make in order to get to be as large as they needed it to be. And by the way, every move worked.
They couldn't go fix it if it broke. Now let me just tell you, man is not that smart. But God wanted this telescope to get out there because they were going to be able to see things they had never seen before.
And more times than not, they have said, we have to rethink what it is we thought about everything. And now they have a new thing that they have discovered out there. And they said that we have to rethink how it is we have thought about the four sources that we have the gravity being one of them.
They said, we are recognizing that there may be a force beyond us. Amen. Yes, we definitely will say amen to that.
There is a force that's beyond them and they will never understand it for that with the James Webb telescope. They have to have a Bible to come and understand it. But they are searching and by the way, this group that found it has now turned it over to another group.
So they can study it so they can see if they come up with the same conclusion. There's nothing that they will find that was shocked us as Christians. Remember in the video he told us about Hubble discovering there was another galaxy.
By the way, the galaxy has been there for eons. Hubble just woke up to the fact that it was there. And then he says five years later, Hubble figured out that the galaxies were moving away from us.
You go to the scripture in Isaiah, Isaiah chapter 40, verse 22 and it says, God stretches out the heavens like a curtain. There is no reference that he brings it back in. So God just stretches the heaven out like a curtain.
And that was the same thing that Hubble saw. But guess what? He's been doing that since creation. But Hubble just woke up to it.
And those are the things that we see and those are the things that we have to look at. What do we do with all this? Since the scripture is true and all of this that we have put our faith in is true. Can we explain it? No.
Can we believe it? Yes, we can. Why? Because God said it. And when he says it, we can believe it.
In Isaiah 55, verses 8 and 9, the prophet writes this writing of God. He says, for my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are my ways your ways, declares the Lord. For as the heaven are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Wow. The prophet wrote this down. And notice his comparison.
As high as the heavens is above the earth. When the prophet wrote this, it was 500 years later that astronomers figured out how far the moon was from us. But the prophet still wrote as high as the heavens are above the earth, so are my ways above your ways.
And then for us to get down to figure out how far the sun was away, took another 2300 years before we figured out how far the sun was away. But the prophet was still there with his writings who have said as high as the heavens are above the earth, so are my ways above your ways.
The other night I was at Mount Wilson and we looked at a quasar. 2.4 billion light years away from us. 2.4 billion, with the B, billion light years from us.
Now we see what science want to tell you is that it takes that light 2.4 billion years to get here. No, it did not. All you have to do is understand God and understand I'm not present. I'm not present means God is everywhere present at the same time.
Now let's do an example. See this wall over here? Let's say God is over there and let's say God is over there. That doesn't put God in two places.
God is in every molecule in between here and there. Okay? God is everywhere present at the same time. So when God said, let there be light, he was everywhere present at the same time.
So how far did the light have to travel? From one molecule to there, that's all. Okay. All you have to do is understand God bigger than anything else and I'm not present.
Do I believe that the universe is some six to 10,000 years old? Yes, I do. That's what the scripture tells us. Have I seen something that's 2.4 billion light years away? Yes.
That talks about how magnificent God is and the omnipresence of God. That doesn't mean that it took that long for the light to get here. It does not mean that at all. These are the things that you and I have to come to understand and believe no matter what science comes up with.
So I got to thinking about this and how is it that we wrap this up? There's a passage of scripture in Romans chapter 8. Romans chapter 8 and we're going to start with verse 31. Paul is writing here and he wants us to get a clear understanding of what is going on in this passage and what's going on with us and what may come.
So looking at verse 31, he says, what shall I say then of these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son but delivered him over for us all, how will he not also in him freely give to us all things? Who will bring anything against God's elect? God is the one who justifies. Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is he who died, yet rather was raised. Who is at the right hand of God who also intercedes for us? Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulations or disgraces or persecutions or famines or nakedness or perils or swords? Just as it is written, for your sake we are being put to death all day long. We are conquerors as sheep, excuse me, we are considered as sheep before the slaughters.
Now look at verse 37, for in all these things we are overwhelmingly conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor power, nor heights, nor death, nor any created thing will ever be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Paul says there's nothing been created, there's nothing that will be created that will ever separate us from the love of God. I don't care what you hear on the news, I don't care what your professor tell you in school, if it doesn't line up with scripture, it needs to be ignored. Because the scripture is what God has given unto us that we then might learn from this and be able to share him with others.
Last week I think it was we shared with you about an astrophysicist named Jason Lowell. Jason Lowell is a Christian who is with Creation Research. And before they put the James Webb Telescope in space, Jason came up with a prediction of what they were going to find.
And when you read his prediction, and when you read NASA's report on what they have found out there, it's almost as if they're reading his prediction. Why? Because he knew what the Bible says. See the Bible doesn't say they won't find something new out there.
The Bible simply tells us whatever they find has already been created by the God himself. By the way, they found some galaxies that they had never seen before, never been discovered before. You know what was surprising to them? The galaxies were younger, according to them, than our galaxy, but just as mature.
So they're wondering how did a younger galaxy get to be as mature as a 13.4-billion-year-old galaxy? That's their estimate, it's not a fact, it's their estimate. But see they're already saying we have to rethink this. Jason Lowell told them in his prediction, he said they're going to find galaxies out there that's just as stable as our galaxy when that is contradictory to what it is that they believe.
Because see they believe the galaxies that they would find way out there in that no man's land, they thought they would be weaker galaxies, not mature as ours. They're just as mature as ours, give a greater picture as our galaxy does. When you are a believer and you believe that in the beginning God created the heavens and earth, it doesn't matter what the telescope pick up out there.
Why? Because God has said it and that is that. By the way, I used to say God has said it, I believe it, and that's that. Old Charles Stanley said it one day and he left out the I believe it part.
He says God has said it and that's that. Whether I believe it or not, it has nothing to do with it. And see that's the thing we have to keep in mind.
When we come to these things and when we take this message and we share it with someone else, we're sharing with them the God of the universe who in the beginning created all of this, sent his son to die on the cross on our behalf that we might place our faith in him and what it is he has on the cross for us. And when that happens, he gives unto us the gift of eternal life and he gives us that that we might pass it on to others. Let me pray.
Then I have a couple things to share with you after that. Father, we do thank you for our time together today. Thank you for your great grace toward us and thank you for Jesus Christ our Lord.
We thank you for your word. Thank you for how creation is woven throughout your word and how it is that you explain it that we then might be able to share with others. That we might be the people that you have called us to be.
That we might honor you in everything. And Father, we thank you for the opportunity that you've given us these weeks and ask that you would draw us ever closer to yourself. That we might honor you in all that we do.
In Jesus name. Amen.
